Hi I'm Ken

I'm a retired Civil Engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In my career I worked for an international engineering and construction company for 37 years managing the construction of heavy industrial projects. This meant that I moved often as I went where my assignments took me. When I married my sweetheart and told her that we might have to move around a lot because of the nature of my work she said, "That's ok as long as you take me with you." I agreed and my family and I have had the experience of living and working in 12 states including Hawaii. We were blessed in that wherever we were sent there was an organized ward or branch of the church within driving distance; thus, we had instant friends, instant family and many opportunities for service.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and reared a Mormon but through much study and prayer and faith I have gained a conviction that the church as it existed in Christ's time has been restored to bless us in our day. That church with apostles and prophets and teaching the same doctrine that Christ taught is the church to which I belong. The church has helped me rear my family to be honorable men and women. Its emphasis on the family and its role in society is one of the many reasons I'm a Mormon, and it was only because of the Church that we we were able to pick up and move every few years.

How I live my faith

Throughout our lives my wife and family and I have served the Church in various capacities and in various locations of the Church. After I retired at the age of 77 my wife, now of 58 years, and I served a 2 year church mission and for the last few years have served in the Temple assisting those who perform ordinance work for themselves and for their kindred dead. We love the gospel, know that God lives and acknowledge the many miracles and tender mercies with which He has blessed us. We have "joy in our posterity" of 7 childen, 25 grands and 11 great grands.
