Hi I'm Dan

I'm an attorney, a jazz pianist, a snowboarder, and a father. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm someone who enjoys reading the Wall Street Journal and the Economist almost as much as being a father of two young boys. Were it not for my first being born my senior year of undergrad, I probably would have ended up as a sleep-deprived investment banker in Manhattan. I've found a balance between my passions for finance and fathering by working in the public sector as a securities regulation attorney. During the summer you'll find me on my road bicycle, and during the winter in the mountains on my snowboard. I love being outdoors and in the mountains, away from the fast-paced, noisy world. I've loved playing the piano since I started at the age of six. My emphasis is jazz, and I've been a member of two small combos.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel has brought me nearer to Jesus Christ and to my Father in Heaven. I know that Heavenly Father is the father of my spirit. I also know that Jesus Christ is real and that He is our Savior. His sacrifice is what makes it possible for me to be clean from sin and to live with my family forever. Life is filled with so much uncertainty, but the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace and assurance. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us, comfort us, and carry us through the difficult parts of life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith on a daily basis (emphasis on the word "try"). Each day I seek to be a little more like my Savior. I see my role as a father as my most important service, but I also reach out to others in need in my church and community when possible. Each Sunday I instruct the 12-18 year old young men who are members that live in my town.
