Hi I'm Spence

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad to 5 great kids. I like playing video games and doing work around the house with my kids. I am a design engineer design application specific integrated circuits. You would be amazed at what goes into a lightbulb these days. My family has lived in Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, California, Utah, and now Texas. We really don't like moving, but we're trying to find the best place to raise our kids and a good job to support us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon first because I was raised this way. More importantly, I am a mormon because I found out for myself that what I was taught as a child is the truth. As a great side benefit, I enjoy the benefits of a great ward family. This week here in Bastrop Texas we had a big wild fire. Many homes were burned including homes of members of our ward family. Many more were evacuated from their homes. Our ward family has pitched in and helped each other where we can including providing temporary housing for each other until the fires were contained as well as other benefits. Other members of the mormon community heard about the devastation here in Bastrop and has sent literally truck loads of supplies for those devastated by the fires. This is just one of the things it means to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I help the young men in our ward. I help teach lessons on Sundays and help the young men plan and organize activities for Wednesday. I really enjoy the small part I play in helping these young people grow and mature. However, I think that they teach me more every week than I teach them. I may have more experience, but these young people are very wise souls.
