Hi I'm David Adams

I love to golf, play tennis ride motorcycles and ref soccer. I've lived in Arizona for 19 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of 8 children. I have four brothers and all five of us earned our Eagle Scout award. 6 of the 8 children also served missions, all of them in foreign countries and 5 of 6 in Spanish speaking countries. I enjoy most outdoor activities including tennis, golf, camping, hiking and volleyball. I don't enjoy watching sports as much as I enjoy playing them. I graduated from college with a B.S. in Business Management and have worked in the claims department for the same insurance company for the past 22 years. I have been married for 24 years and have four children, one daughter and three sons. My daughter is a nurse and my twin boys are currently serving missions in Finland and Australia. They have also earned their Eagle Scout awards. My youngest son is working on his. My wife is going back to school to earn her bachelor's degree and has completed a sprint triathlon. While I have never played competitive soccer, I am a certified referee and ref recreational games as a hobby.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born to parents who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have stayed an active member because I have seen the benefits of being a member and striving to keep God's commandments the best I can. I have a good relationship with my wife as we work towards a common goal. Our family, immediate and extended, is closer to each other because we know that it is part of God's plan that we be together forever, not just in this life. I have served in many different areas of the church and have seen miracles in my life that I know have come from God. He is there. He listens to our prayers and wants us to return and live with him again. We are not here by chance and the commandments are not just there as casual suggestions, they are our roadmap back to Him. I want to live with my wife, kids and extended family forever. I believe that only by striving to keep God's commandments can we live with Him again, as well as our families. It is not enough just to be good, we have to do good. I believe that Christ came to earth to show us the way back to our Father's presence. He provided a way for us to repent of our sins, change our lives and become better tomorrow than we are today. While there is much good in the world today, only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the complete gospel, as organized by Jesus Christ, found. That's why I'm a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the youth in our church as a Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America for several years while my sons were in scouting. While working with the youth, we have completed several service projects for members of the church as well as the community. I have also served a mission in Venezuela, where I met and worked with many good people from around the world. I am currently a bishop over a congregation of approximately 500 people, where I have the opportunity to help counsel and help those who seek my help. I also taught an early morning seminary class for high school students before school. Helping others is something that gives me a sense of accomplishment.
