Hi I'm Jill

I am from Utah. I work in Special Education at a local high school and teach piano lessons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah and met my husband while in college. We married and have six wonderful children and are now starting our roles as grandparents. I play the piano and teach lessons, something I absolutely love to do. I like to craft, read, sew, and do genealogy. I also work in the Special Education classroom at our local high school and I love my job!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Presbyterian church. We were active members, however, I felt something was missing at a very young age. During my teenage years I attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with friends. This was the turning point of my life. I had finally found that missing piece that I had longed for. I wasn't allowed to be baptized but through much prayer and patience I was able to enter the waters of baptism at age 16 and have never looked back. I have such a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. The Lord loves me and all of us and wants us to return to him. Jesus Christ is my best friend and through the atonement of Christ, my sins are forgiven me if I will repent. Because of His atonement, I have found I will always have someone with me who cares about me and my future and will help me through any burden I cast at His feet. What a blessing it has been to raise our children with the gospel as the perfect model. They also have a relationship with the Savior and the power He provides us to weather the ups and downs of life. I love this gospel. What a huge blessing it has been for me to find it. I will never let myself be without it.

How I live my faith

One of the greatest things I want to do in this life is let people know how wonderful this gospel is. One way of spreading the good news is the example I set every day. I find many opportunities during the day where I associate with good people. I want them to know how much I care for them just because they are a fellow human being and I try to follow the commandment to love thy neighbor as thy self. I admire and love the youth. I have worked for much of my adult life in the youth program of the church. They have much promise and I want them to reach their full potential. I am also a visiting teacher in my ward. What a great program this has proved to be. We look after each other. There are times when someone is sick or burdened for some reason. This gives me the opportunity to take in meals, babysit children, or simply be that ear willing to listen. What an inspired program! Playing the piano has brought me many opportunities to play the organ in church. How thankful I am that I am able to help set the tone for our Sabbath meetings.
