Hi I'm Jenny

I spent 4 months in Russia teaching English to children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 1 of seven children in my family and we are all very close. We are a fairly odd mix of breeds. Steming from Germany, Japan, Mexico, and Amercia...we love it, looking Mexican with a German last name. I absolutely love people and making them feel that love I have. I'm outgoing and always willing to try new things. I absolutely love to smile! It is so amazing how something so simple can brighten a day by so much. I have a passion for singing, even though I don't always share it. I kind of am a nature freak. I absolutely love the earth!..though my absolute favorite are mountains. Some of my favorite things are sunsets/sunrises, nights with countless stars and no moon, forests, waterfalls, pretty much the outdoors! I can't leave out my best 4-legged friend, Terra. She is my little redheeler mutt who I love with all my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I KNOW it is the only true church. I never was active in any church, before I was baptized 2 years ago, but I grew up in a Fundamentalist Latter-Day Saint community. I grew up knowing some basic doctrine and principles and my conversion was so hard because of the similarities. I wanted to know where the authority was and I didn't want to be biased. I wanted to have an open heart to accept whatever God was going to reveal to me. It took me so long to realize the ways God had answered my questions, but once I knew...I was committed. I am committed. This is where the authority lies. The same gospel and church that Jesus Christ established when he was on the earth, is brought back today through the Prophet Joseph Smith. There is a Prophet, this day, who speaks with God to lead us safely through life. How grateful I am to know where I've come from, who I am, and where I am going

How I live my faith

I'm absolutely grateful for Family Home Evenings in the Single Branch. It's wonderful to get together every Monday with people my same age and with same beliefs, these people really have become my family while away from home. I do have a calling in the Branch...I am a teacher for a Gospel Doctrine class. Currently we are studying the New Testament and it is amazing. I learn so much as I prepare my lessons and am guided by the Holy Spirit. I always get so excited to share what I learn. Like I said before, I love meeting people. I have had a few experiences where I just walk up to random people and say hi because I want to get to know them. Everybody has a story and their lives are so interesting.
