Hi I'm Norman

I grew up in Idaho. I work in a group that tests airplane parts and materials. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I I participated in sports and played the drums in High School and played Lttle League, Pony League and American Legion baseball in the summer. Our family visited Yellowstone Park two weeks before the earthquake in 1959. We also went to the Seattle Worlds Fair in 1962 and I was to short to go on most of the rides. These were the only two vacations I went on while growing up. I attended Ricks College for one semester before going on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Ireland. I attended Utah Technical College and while there belonged to Vocational Clubs of America (V.I.C.A.). I competed with other club members in a state and national competition in which I took first place in State and National in extemporaneous speaking. I think it helped to have kissed the Blarney Stone. I worked several years in the oil fields and refineries in Utah and The Houston, Texas area. I met my wife in Provo, Utah while going to college. We were married in the Idaho Falls Temple and lived in Texas where our two oldest children were born, a boy and then a girl. We eventually ended up in WAshington State following my completion of a airospace drafting course. We lived in Kent, Washington for 26 years and after our youngest daughter graduated from high school moved to Marysville, Wa. Our two youngest children, girls, were born in Renton, Wa.. We now have six beautiful grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into and L.D.S. (Mormon) family to parents who have great faith and kept the Lors's commandments faithfully. My great great grandfather was converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the Prophet Joseph Smith and came out west with the Mormon pioneers. I still had to receive a testimony of the truthfullness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for myself which I have done. It has been gradually become stronger as I get older with repeated confirmations from the Holy Ghost. I know with all my heart that is true and that Jesus is the Christ, our Redeemer and Savior of all God's children which we all are. I know that the Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets living on the American continent that testified of the coming of Christ in the meridian of time and of his birth, crucifixtin and resurrection when those events transpired. They also prophesied of His second coming. It is indeed a second witness of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith Jr. was a true prophet of God and was visited by both our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in a grove of trees in up state New York. I know that the church is led by true and living prophets today and that Jesus Christ is at the head of His church. I know that the church is directed through revelation from the Lord's prophet, Thomas S. Monson. His revelations are also for the benifit of the whole world. I know God, our Heavenly Father and his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ live and knows each one of us and loves us beyond measure. Jesus Christ is my Savior and has suffered for my sins in the Garden of Gethsemane even to the bleeding from every pore and finished his sacrifice for mankind on the cross with the culmination of his Atonement with his free gift of the resurrection (1 Cor. 15:21-22). That is why I am a Mormon, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the Ward Mission Leader in my ward (conregation) where under the direction of the Bishop I direct the missionary efforts of the ward and coordinate our missionary work with the full time missionaries those young men in white shirts, ties and suits. I also serve by being a home teacher where i have been given by my Priesthood Leaders families that I visit each month and share a gospel message. I also am available to them to help with any needs that they might have. I attend my church meetings and strive to keep God's commandments and live so that I can receive promptings from the Holy Ghost.
