Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in Arizona. My family means everything to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the lucky wife of an amazing man and mother of 3 beautiful, smart and happy children. I love to cook, and I like experimenting to create new recipes. I enjoy scrap booking and making cards. I enjoy reading. I love animals; my favorite animal is a snake. I enjoy dancing and used to teach jazz and ballet to children ages 3-12. I enjoy being outside, whether it be lounging on the beach or camping or hiking or just taking my kids to the park.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and relied heavily on my parent's testimonies. When I got married and moved away from my parents, my personal testimony was tested and I found that it was not very strong. I actually went inactive for about 2 years. I had visited other churches but had never felt comfortable in any of them. When I decided to come back to the LDS church I just knew that it was true. I knew that everything I had been taught as a kid was right. Since then I have gained a strong testimony. I know that this church is the only church on the earth that has the whole truth. I know that God is real, that He loves each of us and He wants us to be happy. I know that to be truly happy we need to follow the counsel we have received via the scriptures and the prophets and apostles of the church. I know that we have a true prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson, and that he receives direct revelation for us from our Father in Heaven. I know the scriptures are true and that inspired prophets of God wrote them and they contain answers to any questions we may have. I love this gospel! I love the feelings I receive as I read the scriptures, listen to our prophet and attend my church meetings. I am grateful for the support system that is our church. When you come into our church, no matter where you are in the world, you are accepted with open arms. You are loved. You have instant friends. There is no denying that this organization was given to us by a loving Heavenly Father. I am overwhelmed at how much my Father in Heaven blesses me. I am overwhelmed at the fact that He knows what I am going through. He knows what I need. He knows what will be best for me. He comforts me when I am going through hard times and I know that no matter what trials I am given I can overcome them and rise above any challenge as long as I put my faith in God and live my life according to His will.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy serving those around me, regardless of whether they are a member of my church or not. I have, on many occasions, taken meals to someone who is sick, who just had a baby, who is having a hard day, etc. I also try to make myself available if someone needs a babysitter or a ride somewhere and don't charge them for my services. I am always willing and able to lend a listening ear to someone who is lonely or just needs to talk. I am assigned to visit a few women in my ward. I check in with them at least monthly to see how they are doing and see if they need any help. I also share with them an uplifting and spiritual message that can help them through difficult times. I have a leadership assignment in our women's group (or Relief Society) and with that I have many opportunities to serve women who have specific needs.
