Hi I'm DeeDee

I'm a Mormon, born and raised in Colorado.

About Me

Growing up in Colorado, my Mom was active in the church, my Dad was not. My younger brother and I went with my Mom to church every week, without fail. I went to college in Utah and loved every minute of it. I lived in Hawai'i and on cold January days, I wish I were still there! I have a pet sitting business and love taking care of "my" animals. Most of them are dogs, but I also take care of quite a few cats, and other various animals. I have been pet sitting for over eleven years now and enjoy spending time with each of them, well except maybe the snake! I love all sports, sitting on the side lines cheering on my favorite players and playing whenever I can. I enjoy bungee jumping and would love to bungee off of a hot air balloon someday!

Why I am a Mormon

Stumbling through life at times, I have found that I am much happier when I am living the Gospel. I have taken some wrong turns during my "growing up" years and am very thankful that our kind Heavenly Father allows u-turns. Course corrections can hurt a little but I am very blessed to have wonderful friends, family and my loving Savior to help me along the way. My sweet little god-daughter passed away at the age of 6, just over two years ago, I want to live my life so that I will be able to be with her again. I want to wrap my arms around her and teach her all of the things that I have learned here on earth. I know that she went to live with our Heavenly Father. I know that her characteristics, talents and goodness will not be wasted. I feel so lucky to have a testimony of the Plan of Salvation and to understand that this is God's plan. I know that she is working diligently, getting ready for our Savior's second coming. She is preparing the way for her loved ones to join her! I, also, know that without Jesus Christ in my life, I would be lost. I am grateful for His sacrifice and love. As the hymn "Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy" says, "Brightly beams our Father's mercy from his lighthouse evermore, but to us he gives the keeping of the lights along the shore. Let the lower lights be burning; send a gleam across the wave. Some poor fainting, struggling seaman you may rescue, you may save." I am a fainting, struggling "gal" and I am thankful for a loving Heavenly Father, my elder brother Jesus Christ and the gospel in my life and for the hope that they give to me. I feel blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I try to be the best person that I can be, by doing whatever I am asked to do and by serving others. I try to be a good example and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I know that I am blessed when I pay my tithing honestly, read my scriptures, pray to my Father in Heaven, attend church regularly and serve in the temple when time allows me to. I know that these things bring much needed light into my life.
