Hi I'm Melissa

I grew up in Utah, met my husband on a study abroad in Jerusalem and now I am a busy mom of three girls and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family with hard working parents, three brothers and two sisters. My brothers gave me a love of football and made me really tough, to prepare for my life with three little girls. I still love watching football and other sports with my husband but spend most of my time making sure my little girls make it to soccer, gymnastics and music on time. I'm trying to become an expert gardener, growing tomatoes even though I don't like them. I can fix a leaky faucet, change a light fixture and mow my lawn with perfect diagonal lines. I love to cook Mexican food and eat chocolate cake. I can make a mean batch of mango salsa. I am working with my husband running a small family business which allows me to work from home and enjoy my little girls.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it brings me great peace. I know that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and that he wants all of his children to be happy. I know that the only way to experience true happiness in this life is in following the teachings of Jesus Christ. There is a lot of uncertainty in the world we live in but I have faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ and I know he will guide me and direct me in raising my little girls. No matter what trials come my way, I have peace in Jesus Christ that he knows me and I can call on him in prayer and he will watch over me and direct me. He answers prayers. He wants me to be happy and have joy in this life and I would not trade that knowledge for anything.

How I live my faith

Not only am I blessed to teach my own children, I am also blessed to be able to teach the girls in my church, ages 12 and 13. They are amazing young women who love Jesus Christ and I learn from them just as they learn from me. They are very busy girls who are very involved in school, dance and other activities yet still find time to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and share it with others. These Young Women are encouraged to live eight values, one of these values is Integrity. I try to live my faith by living with Integrity, I am trying to make my actions consistent with my knowledge of what is right.
