Hi I'm Shauna

I grew up in southeastern Arizona. Married to my sweetheart. Lucky mother of 5. Sister to many. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Arizona most of my life. I have been married to the same sweet man for nearly 22 years. We have 5 beautiful children together. I am a happy wife with a happy life--not that there aren't hard things too. I love my family, being a sister, a daughter, a friend. I like to read, learn, ride horses, go on road trips, play volleyball, watch football, go to the movies, eat good food, do laundry, listen to beautiful music and sing it. I can't think of the last time I had a "bad" day!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon faith, with parents that taught me what they believed. I was never the rebellious type, but had questions about different things. I remember asking my mom when I was a young teenager why she believed in this teaching and what if it wasn't true? She said she believed because it had never led her down a wrong path, or caused her to make any life choices that she would regret. I believed her! As an adult I have practiced what I was taught and it is true. By living by the principles of this church, the life choices I have made have only increased my happiness and created peace in my life. By living a life parallel to the teachings of this church and following the teachings of Jesus Christ I can have maximum happiness in this life- as well as in the life after death. I love the teachings that families can be together forever. That is a pearl of great price to me and something I live for daily.

How I live my faith

I read from the scriptures daily with my family. We also have family prayer together morning and night. I read the scriptures on my own as well and attend a scripture study class during the week. I look forward each Sunday to attending church with my family. I get to reflect on the things I have done and choices that I have made and renew myself each week in my determination to be a better follower of Jesus Christ and how He lived His life. The responsibilities I have in my ward at this time are to serve the women of our ward and sometimes teach lessons to them on Sunday's. I love being a part of the Relief Society which is for all women 18 years and older. It is a wonderful organization of women whose focus is to teach, serve and support with compassionate service to all those around us. I love the balance, peace and perspective I gain from living the principles of my faith.
