Hi I'm Margaret

I was a single mother with 5 kids when I began college. I remarried and now we are raising our son who has Autism. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Seattle during the 'Baby Boomer' generation. I am the 7th of 11children and consequently, the youngest of the middle shift. I helped organize and hosted an international family reunion that brought together 368 extended family and many meeting each other for the first time. I make personal quilts for family members hoping they will feel wrapped in love. I help others with their family histories as well as currently writing a book about my own German ancestors that lived and labored as Coal Miners outside of Chicago at the turn of the century. For 3 years I was a single mother with 5 children when I began college and graduated with my ATA Degree. I am currently remarried and my husband and I are lovingly on a journey of raising our 9 year old son with autism.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Mormon Church. I remember learning to pray at an early age from my Catholic mother and was taught that God hears our prayers. From this foundation as a child I learned to recognize and follow simple promptings from the Holy Spirit that helped me feel close to my Father in Heaven as well as confirm He had heard my prayers. It was through prayer and previous experiences that allowed me to recognize those same promptings I had come to trust as I knelt in sincere prayer asking for spiritual direction. Being a Morman has taught me that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is a gift to all mankind from God.

How I live my faith

One Sunday a month I voluntarily teach a religious class to women of my faith. Instructing does not come easily to me so I rely on prayer for help and strength in broadening my comfort zone and so far it has worked! I also pray that the Holy Ghost will be with those in the audience so they may be taught by the Spirit of the Lord. I have faith in my Savior Jesus Christ that He will help me achieve righteous goals.
