Hi I'm Ginger

I grew up traveling the United States and in Canada performing for my father's professional polynesian show and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I remember growing up traveling from state to state, town to town, both in the U.S. and Canada performing for people who couldn't afford to go to Hawaii and learn of the polynesian culture. I loved performing for people and to see their faces with joy and excitement. We performed many dances from the South Pacific islands and shared with people our cultures and love for music and dance. I enjoy dancing and playing sports. I coach volleyball and I teach students who want to learn the polynesian dances. I'm a mother of 4 beautiful children and I'm a caregiver for my eldest son who is chronically ill. I have gained a very special relationship with my son and we pretty much do everything together. We watch my children play all their sports and cheer for them very loudly. My husband calls us the mother/son team. There is nothing that we cannot tackle together. Watching my son go from a very healthy young boy to a very sick young man has truly made an impact on our little family . We are stronger and much closer now than ever before and we believe it's because of his illness. We have accepted the fact that he will and has gone through so much and we can only be his strength to carry on. We could never imagine what pain he goes through on a daily basis but we do know that our family has and will continue to grow emotionally and spiritually from this ordeal. Watching my son and how he handles adversity has strengthen our faith in God. He is truly a miracle in our eyes.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a family who was L.D.S. All my life, I grew to learn of my faith and religion and have learned so much about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I remember growing up in my youth years, I would go to church for every other reason but to learn about Jesus. But, those very reasons helped me learn about who I was and why I was here on this earth. It taught me where I was going and the purpose of my life. As I continued to learn, I felt a great compassion for Jesus and what He has done for me. So, I chose to serve a full-time mission for the church to share with others what this Gospel was all about and the Plan of Happiness. After, I met a special young man that married me in the L.D.S. temple. I continue to learn from my husband what the Infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ really means to me and why I should always feel a need to share it with others. Being a Mormon makes me happy because I know who I am, I know what I stand for and I know that God lives. Being a Mormon makes me feel obligated to be kind, loving and charitable to others who are in need. I hope that when people meet me and my family and see how happy we are together, that they would want to learn why we are so happy. Hopefully, finding the answer to that very question will only lead you to learn more about Mormons. I'm so grateful to know that there is a living prophet. I'm grateful for the Temple and the saving ordinances that will seal our families together forever. I'm grateful for this gospel and how it teaches us the Plan of Happiness and how we can return to our Father in Heaven. I know that through prayer we are able to communicate with God. And through scriptures and others, we will recieve an answer to our prayers. I am grateful for the Infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ so that I may return to Him some day and live with my family for all time and eternity. I know that the word of God is true because God lives and Jesus is His only begotten Son and we should follow Him.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith with joy, love and excitement. I have worked with the youth of the church for a very long time. I have helped organized girls camp in the summer, fun youth activities and spiritual meetings that will help the youth fellowship one with another and learn how to live a Christlike life. My husband and I helped teach the Young Adults, those are members in the age group from 18yrs. old to 30yrs. old. We have enjoyed taking these young people to Utah and attending General Conference where the Prophet and Leaders of the church speak to the world twice a year. I have also had the previledge to teach the youth, young adults and adults on Sundays in Sunday School classes and in a class that is only for Young Women so that they can learn of Christ and come to know of Him and how much He loves them, especially in their youth years because He knows how much peer pressure they deal with. As a member of the church, The women belong to an organization called Relief Society and as a part of this group of women, I am asked to visit certain families every month, we call this visiting teaching, to share with the women a message from the Lord and to make sure that they are doing well. If they are in need, we make sure that their needs are met. We work together as members to help families who may need our skills and expertees to help with what they may need in the home. The church will step in if there's other needs that they can help with. We have organized so many events to help with church celebrations, church activities and temple work. We love attending the temple on a regular basis so that we may fulfill our geneology and to do work for the dead. Service is a blessing to help in the church. There's much to be done in the church and we choose to do this because We Believe In It. The Lord taught and helped those who were in need and because we want to follow the Lord, we choose to do this everyday of our lives. Giving service, to us, is a blessing not a burden.

In whom should we have faith?

Ginger
I believe that we must learn to have faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. To develope ones faith in Jesus you must learn of Him and know His life's teachings. When you know of these things and you believe in it then you will be willing to live like Him and follow His teachings. When you do this, you will then know that your faith exists. Show more Show less
