Hi I'm Carrie Barrett

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of three children. I am happily married to my best friend. 2 years ago my family was affected by stage 3 cancer when my oldest and only son was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. We have been continually loved and supported by our family, friends, ward and community. Most especially the tender mercies the Lord has shown us during one of the most trying trials we could face. We have all learned a lot and are truly better people because of the things we have done, seen, and have had to have faith just to trust that god is in control, because he is. We are grateful for our challenges because they open up unseen opportunities we couldn't have imagined before.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 8, but I didn't really "get it" until I was over thirty. I finally read the Book of Mormon and it was a life changing experience for me. I read it in less than 2 weeks and feel in love with it. The spirit that I felt during my reading propelled me on to learn more, and more. Classes, books, etc. I also felt the pressure of Satan's influence again and again trying to press me off of the path I was on. Because I didn't give in to the pressure, I could resist temptations again and again because I remembered that I had done it before, and I knew I could win the battle. I know have a deep desire to learn and grow. I want to do everything!

How I live my faith

I am involved in the Relief Society right now. I am trying to use principles of self reliance to teach the ladies in my ward how to use their food storage, and how to become more prepared for anything. Life changes very quickly and all we can do is the best we can do, and trust in our Heavenly Father to lead us where he wants us to go.
