Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a Wife, a Mother and a daughter. I am Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California with a loving mother and father and two older brothers. I have amazing parents who taught me about Jesus Christ, unconditional love and respecting others. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies and minored in Spanish. I live in the Southwestern United States and have a wonderful husband and 4 wonderful children, 3 boys and 1 girl. I love to hike, swim, scrapbook, workout, travel, read, spend time with my family and go to my children’s sports activities.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion was a process of events. When I was in High School my brother joined the church. When I was in college he was on a mission in Brazil. I would often say “hello” to the Sister Missionaries I would see on campus at the college I attended and even met with the Sister Missionaries a few times. A few years later, I had the opportunity to meet with the missionaries again. As the missionaries taught me, I enjoyed reading the scriptures and being able to understand more fully the purpose of life and why I’m here on Earth. Most of all I loved the peaceful feeling I had when I would read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. When I prayed to know if the Gospel was true and if I should join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I got the most peaceful feeling in my mind and body that the Gospel was true. That was the first time I had ever felt the Spirit so strongly. Everything around me seemed more peaceful and brighter. I knew that after that prayer I could not deny it and that I would get baptized. The Gospel principles are what I live by and because of them I am happier. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t happy before or that I didn’t have a good life but now I feel more complete and peaceful and have a better understanding and appreciation of my purpose here on Earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church services each Sunday. I also read my scriptures and say my prayers each day. As a family, we also read scriptures and have one night a week were we spend some time together learning more about gospel principles and playing games together. I am currently serving the young children in our congregation. These children range in age from 3-11. Each Sunday I have the amazing opportunity to spend time with these kids singing songs and teaching them more about gospel principles. I also have the opportunity to work with the Cub Scout boys ages 8-11, I get to work with the Den leaders and help plan wonderful activities for these boys so they can keep busy in a positive environment and learn wonderful standards that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints supports. I also participate in visiting other ladies of the ward (congregation) monthly and share a message. I have the wonderful opportunity to serve them and to get to know them on a more personal level. I have many friends and family who are not of my same faith. I love and respect them and all people of different backgrounds and faiths. I know my friends of other faiths work hard to teach their own children love and respect. I teach my children that there are many wonderful and amazing people of all faiths and that the Lord Jesus Christ wants us to love everyone and be kind to everyone.
