Hi I'm Donald

I joined the Church when I was 15 and it was the most important decision of my life. I am an investment advisor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I started an investment adviory firm and enjoy the investment business. My wife and I were born in the same hospital nine days apart so I kid her about the wink she gave me in the nursery. While we grew up in different cities and went to different colleges, we met again, fell in love, got married in the temple for time and eternity and now have seven children and nineteen grandchildren. While I have been successful in business, the joy of watching our children and now our grandchildren grow up is far more fulfilling.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Catholic and went to a Catholic school until my parents divorced when I was in the third grade and I moved with my mother to another state. I lived with her during the school year and spent a couple of months in the summer with my father. When I turned 11, two of my good friends invited me to join a boy scout troop sponsored by the Church. I continued to attemd scout meetings until I was 15 when I made a New Year's resolution to find out more about the Church. I had missionary lessons, studied, and prayed and almost six months later I was baptized. It was the most important decision of my life and has helped me throughout my life. When I was 19, I served a mission mainly in Georgia and had the chance to teach many people about the Church and, in the process, become a much better person. I know it helped me to be a better husband and father. After my mission, I met my wife at Church while spending time with my father during the summer. Had I not been a member of the Church we wouldn't have meet and she has meant so much to me. I will be forever grateful that my friends invited me to be a boy scout in a Church sporsored troop and I was able to find the Church. Because of the Church, I have viewed investing from a long term perspective while most of my peers arre much shorter term oriented and, as a result, we have been very successful and the opportunities I have had to serve in the Church have helped me in managing the business.

How I live my faith

One of the great things about the Church is the opportunity to serve and thus to grow. I have been a missionary, a Sunday School teacher, I have worked with the young men, I have been a Bishop, and an advisor to others and I have been helped more in each case than I have been able to help others. I have been involved in scouting as a District Chairman and three years as a Council President. The most important thing about life is living the gospel of Jesus Christ and that starts by trying to be the best person I can be and, at the same time, realize I'm not perfect but that we, as imperfect people, can be around other imperfect people and work together toward perfection. I love my family and want to be a good husband, father, and grandfather.
