Hi I'm Janae Marie Nelson

I am a new mother, I am a USU graduate, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from USU with a degree in Family Consumer and Human Development and a few short days later became a brand new mother! It is the hardest but most wonderful thing that I have ever experienced. I am blessed enough to be able to stay at home with my beautiful son and take care of him. We are both learning and growing everyday! I feel sad when woman are asked what they do and respond they are just a stay at home Mom. I have only been a Mom for a few months now but I sincerely believe it is one of the toughest but most rewarding jobs available to a woman. My appreciation for my own mother as well as mothers everywhere has grown drastically. I am so privileged to be a mother and wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel gives my life meaning and purpose. LIfe can be challenging at times and hardships can come when you least expect them but with the gospel I know that I can overcome them. I am still very young but everyday I can see the blessings that come from following my savior more clearly. Many girls at my age in todays world would not understand my decision to marry and become a mother at this point in my life but the joy and blessings I have received are indescribable. I know the prophet Joseph Smith restored the gospel, and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I also know that my redeemer lives and I am grateful to be a member of his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

My husband and I have the opportunity to teach a class in our ward about the gospel principles. We are new to this calling but are excited to have the opportunity to teach together as a couple. I love teaching gospel principles because it is some of our most basic beliefs. I grew up dancing and no matter what level of dance you are at it's always helpful to go back to the basics and review. That is what makes a truly good dancer and in the gospel it helps create a solid testimony.
