Hi I'm Mariah

I grew up on a farm. I love my family. I'm serving a Mission! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm in Southern Arizona in a large family. I love my family very much, but have chosen to leave them for a short time to share the gospel that has blessed my family so much in hopes that it can bless another family too.

Why I am a Mormon

Trial and error have shown me that I find greater safety, security, and happiness when living the standards set forth by the Lord through modern revelation to his living prophet.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission where I can share my conviction and my faith every day.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

There are many people who are kept from the truth because they don't know where to find it. We as missionaries simply seek to present that information and invite others to come unto Christ and help them receive the Restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end! Whether people choose to accept our message is up to them, we are just here to share what we hold so dear. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

We are awesome! The gospel is so empowering! I am a daughter of God and he loves me. He has sent me to this earth where I can learn, grow, and be happy! I am of great worth to him, and I trust his judgment. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes! Yes! Yes! The Bible is so wonderful and uplifting! I especially love the testimonies of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John! Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Baby kittens. No cruel, godless world could create something so innocent, helpless, and adorable. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Of course. God loves us as much today as he loved his children back then. Why would he give them a prophet and not us? It just makes sense. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so of course he would give us a prophet. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Jesus. But after he and his apostles were killed, his church was taken from the earth, so he restored it through Joseph Smith when the world was ready. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

We don't need it. We receive all the blessings of the priesthood even without holding it ourselves. Our fathers, brothers, husbands, etc. hold the priesthood and we are blessed thereby. It doesn't give them power over us, just another tool with which to serve God's children. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, but it's a great opportunity. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. The Lord will give you good feelings and thoughts so that you know it is true. If the Book of Mormon is true, then so is the church. If the Book of Mormon is not true, than neither is anything else that we teach. Try it out. Either it's true or it's not. Don't take anyone else's word for it. Try it out and ask God. Then you can know for yourself. Show more Show less

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

People didn't like Mormons so they were killing them. The men were dying, so there were more women than men. The Lord commanded the men to take multiple wives so that we wouldn't die off. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Bible is the word of God. It is Holy Scripture given to the Jews. The Book of Mormon is Holy Scripture given to the people in the Americas. God loves all his children and wouldn't just speak to one group, nor would he tell them something different. The Bible and Book of Mormon support eachother! It's awesome! Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Our bodies are a gift from God. We do our best to show our gratitude by taking care of them. Tea, Coffee, Alcohol, Tobacco and other harmful substances make it hard for our spirits to be healthy in our bodies. When we take good care of our bodies we show that we are grateful for them and it is easier for our spirits to be happy as well. Show more Show less
