Hi I'm Cori

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a mother of three beautiful children, and wife of one amazing husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up, I was the second to youngest of eight kids! My dad would take all of us hiking or camping at least once a month - brave man! In high school I loved photography and anything art. I met my husband when I was only 15 and we have been inseperable ever since. I worked at a photography studio for 8 years and recently quit to become a stay at home mommy. Having three young kids keeps me pretty busy, but when I have a spare moment I like (attempting) to bake and craft. As a family, we enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, and exploring the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints because I know it's true. Growing up, it was hard for me to accept a lot of the "rules" or standards that the church has. But after following those "rules" that I once hated, I am a truely happy person now. I have a close relationship with my Heavenly Father. He knows me. He knows my needs and wants. He knows my fears and insecurities. He knows my strengths and weaknesses. He knows me and he cares for me. By keeping his commandments, no matter how big or small, he blesses me and my family. I love this Gospel. I am thankful everyday for the blessings that come with knowing that I belong to the true church of Jesus Christ. I am thankful that I was raised knowing the truth, and that my children will grow up with the Gospel in their lives. I know that Joseph Smith, and every prophet since him, are true prophets of God. They receive direct revelation and inspiration from Him. I have a strong testimony of the law of tithing. My family is blessed in so many ways by obeying this simple commandment. I know the importance of temple work. Not only for ourselves, but those those who have passed on. I know that because I have been sealed to my husband and children, we will be together forever. Inside the walls of the temple, I have felt the arms of our Savior around me and have been comforted by Him. I know that He lives. I know that he is tender and caring. I know that we can develop a strong relationship with him through prayer and by doing his will. I am not a perfect wife or mother. I’m not a perfect daughter, sister, or friend; but I am striving to be better. And with His help, I can become the person I want to be and that He wants me to be. The Gospel means everything to me. It is more than just going to church and listening to a preacher. It is a way of life that leads to everlastinig happiness.

How I live my faith

My calling or "job" in my ward is to watch children ages 18 months-4 so their parents can attend classes during church. I get to play with them, read to them, and teach them simple principles of the gospel. Even at such a young age they understand a lot. They learn how to pray, how to show love and thankfulness, and why we are on earth. Each woman in the ward also has an opportunity to participate in visiting teaching. You and a companion are assigned a few women in the ward and are asked to visit them each month. This is a great blessing in the church. Each month I know somebody will come to my house, and show sincere concern for me and my family.
