Hi I'm Becka

I am a wife, a mother, a cancer survivor, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a home with five kids which meant things were always busy and but always fun too. In between my first and second semesters of college I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was 19 and mostly worried about my hair falling out, which it did. I graduated with a B.A. in geography and loved it! I soon met my sweetheart and very happily married him. We have three beautiful children who I am so very thankful to have and to be around all day. Now that I am a wife and a mother, I understand that my hair doesn't really matter. I work hard everyday to teach my children what does really matter. I love ice cream, chocolate, sun flower seeds, playing with my kids, riding bikes, working outside, fishing, hiking, and running. Despite growing up as a tomboy, I have loved learning how to sew and craft. And my poor family hopes that someday I will love learning how to cook!

Why I am a Mormon

I love maps because they allow you to see the big picture. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the same reason. I KNOW the big picture. I know where I can from. I know where I'm going. I know I am a daughter of God. I know His love for me is unconditional. I know the value of work and education. I know the value of service and sacrifice. I know the power of prayer. I know I can be with my family forever because of the Temple. I know I can be forgiven when I make mistakes because of the Atonement. I know I can personally receive guidance and direction from my Heavenly Father. I know the peace and comfort the Gospel brings. I know I can go through life with confidence. And most importantly, I want my kids to know these things... for themselves.

How I live my faith

I rely daily on the guidance of my Heavenly Father. I seek His council through prayer and scripture study. I try to teach my children the importance of making good choices and being kind to others. I make a daily effort to make my home a place of peace and comfort where the Spirit is always present for my family. I have been called to teach the sister in my ward once a month. This has been a blessing for me to study and pray about the principles of the gospel. I love to attend the Temple and to and participate in my ward activities. I strive to recognize to daily opportunities to give service uplift others, and share the gospel.
