Hi I'm Justin

I'm a city boy from Las Vegas/Henderson,I love Sports, hanging out, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary serving in the Washington Spokane Mission ....I love Sports, grew up playing mostly baseball, and Basketball my dad coached me all throughout my sports career, played soccer, basketball and volleyball in high school.I am a UNLV basketball fan, obviously growing up in Las Vegas, I want to be an athletic director, I love having fun doing different and crazy things and just hanging out with my friends and Family. I have 3 brothers, 1 older and 2 younger and great parents. I drive a mustang, I have 2 awesome dogs and my family has moved to Mesa Arizona while i have been on my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church with wonderful parents leading by example, going to church every Sunday, going to seminary and all that stuff. Just how everyone has to have a testimony for themselves as did I, everyone has agency to choose for themselves how they want to live there life. In October of 2009 i came to this conclusion, i just sent in my papers to go on a mission to test God as you could say..and to find out for myself if this was true, i knew it was expected of me to go on a mission, and i also knew deep down that it was something that i wanted to do. My Dad challenged me to start reading the Book of Mormon from the beginning, and if i was going to go on a mission i would have to know what i was going to be teaching. So i did and i was also praying and trying to search for myself. After a little while of doing this on evening i was driving home from work, on the freeway in Henderson, and i was thinking about my situation in life the windows of my mustang rolled halfway down..then my life changed..i felt the holy ghost reveal to me to put my seat belt on it was a really strange feeling so i did it, then turned the music down a little bit and then a silver BMW cutoff the Chevy truck in front of me and i hit him going about 45, almost totaled my car, the man that i hit nothing damaged to him or his truck, thankfully, then to think that if i would have ignored the Holy Ghost testify to me that i needed to put my seat belt on.. i would have ended up dead in the back of the guys truck. I knew that God loved me right there.. when my parents showed up and saw what happened they were mad ya, but not as mad as i thought they would be. When they asked me what happened i couldn't really explain it.Thinking back it wasn't the miracle of me surviving a car accident that converted me to the gospel. It was the experience of feeling the Holy Ghost that saved my life. I am a Mormon cause i chose to be, i know by the power of the Holy Ghost that the church is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith, by acting and not being acted upon, 1 day at a time and "being an example of the believers". I have a lot of non Mormon friends and they ask me all the time why don't i do this or that.. plain and simple its because i know that i want to be happy and this is the only way that happiness can come, is through the gospel. I am currently on a mission and i am loving every minute of it,being an agent of the lord converting people to the gospel is the greatest 2 years for my life.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

If we are required to serve a mission then that means that we don't believe in agency... well anyone how thinks that we are required to serve a mission is wrong. The church encourages us to... but they don't force us too. Christ taught that it was a commandment to go and teach the gospel. Matthew 28:19 Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

So that the people that have not received or even heard of the gospel that have passed on can have that opportunity in the spirit world to accept the gospel, there is people throughout the world that have not heard the gospel and let alone heard of the name Jesus Christ, what happens to them??? well that's why we do the work in the temple. And we want everyone to experience the happiness that comes from the gospel Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Well join the church by baptism, Once you learn that this is the only church that has the Priesthood authority to perform that ordinance you would want to be baptized. What we are here to do is follow Christ and his example, well Christ traveled to John the Baptist because John had that authority. That authority is here again and it only lies within the church.
