Hi I'm Marc

I'm the baby of the family, I love laughter, friends and family are my world, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pretty laid back person. I enjoy laughing and making others laugh too. Music is a big part of my life. I love just about all types and my iPod is ever-growing. I was in orchestra for 7 years and i loved it! And while i don't play anymore, I still attribute my love of music to those years. Right now i am serving a two year mission in the Washington Spokane Mission and I'm doing it in Spanish! I'm still not sure what exactly I wanna be in life. My family is my rock and my friends are my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I hate unanswered questions and I have found that within this Church, I have none. There are none of those "great mysteries of God," and knowledge is so accessible! I am a Mormon because I know that the heavens aren't sealed and that God still loves us the same as in times past. And He is willing to give us the same blessings; blessings like a living prophet and the authority to act in His name, as well as the blessings of communication! I do not believe that the only time that God ever wanted to speak to His children has passed. I believe that He is all powerful and do not believe that He can be limited to just one book. I KNOW that He has spoken to all of His children and not just to one half of the world. I know the other half kept a record of His dealings with them, which is now known as The Book of Mormon. I know that the original Church that Jesus Christ established continues today in its fulness. It all makes SO much sense! But most importantly, I prayed to know if this Church was true and God answered. And that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm living it by serving the Lord for 2 years, and teaching His children in a different language. I live it by making small sacrifices to show my faith and love to Him. And when I'm done with my mission, I will continue to live my faith by doing whatever He asks of me.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Marc
We believe that it is through grace and works that we are saved. There has only ever been One who had the capability of preforming a saving act and that was Jesus Christ Himself. And it is through the grace of His works both in Gethsemane and on the cross that we may be saved. However, that is not a guarantee. Just because Jesus died on the cross does not mean that all who merely "confess" Jesus as their personal savior will be instantly "saved". As the Bible tells us in Phillipians 2:10, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is the Christ. But Matthew 7:21 tells us that "not every one who saith...Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven". He finishes that very verse by declaring that we are saved by doing the will of the Father. Romans 6:15 says that God FORBIDS us from both doing wrong and not doing what's right because grace will save us. We show our faith by doing the will of God. We repent, we are baptized, we keep the commandments and try to live a Christ-like life. And not to "work our way into heaven", but to allow grace to save us. It is as it says in 2 Nephi 25:23: "we know that it is by grace we are saved AFTER all we can do". Therefore "let us labour...to enter into that rest" (Hebrews 4:11) Show more Show less
