Hi I'm Lauri

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married since 1982. I am a mom of 5 children; three girls and two boys. Three of my children are married and I now have 5 grandsons, one granddaughter and a grandbaby due in February. I stayed at home while my children were being raised, however; now I am going back to school to be a certified librarian.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and have ancestors that joined the church when Joseph Smith was the Prophet. When I was in high school I decided that I needed to know if I had my own testimony of the gospel or if I was just relying on my parents testimony. I read the Book of Mormon and fasted and prayed to know if it was true. I received a confirmation with a burning in my heart that I knew the church was true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. He saw both God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ died for me and through Him I can live with God again. I know the Thomas S. Monson is the Prophet of God on this earth at this time. When he speaks I feel the same burning in my heart that I know what he says is true. If I am concerned about anything in my life I know I can pray to Heavenly Father and my prayers will be answered. He is watching over all of us and wants us to be happy. The greatest part of my religion is that Families can be together FOREVER. It is so comforting to know that loved ones we have lost will be reunited with us when we die. That our family ties do not end with death, they continue on throughout all eternity.

How I live my faith

I teach 9-10 years old in Primary and love it. There is no better place to be in my ward then with the Primary age children (18 months to 11 year old). I love to teach the stories of the scriptures. The Bible and the Book of Mormon have so many teachings that can help us in our lives. If Jesus were to visit our church tomorrow I am sure his first stop would be with the little children. I live my faith by trying to be the best person I can be. I try not to judge others and accept anyone regardless of their faith.
