Hi I'm Bill

I love mountain biking, martial arts, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of five beautiful girls. A funny story about the "all girls": we had three girls and thought would try one more time for a boy, instead we got twin girls. I also have five grandchildren with one on the way and yes, there are three boys in the mix. I love sports and the outdoors, with mountain biking, martial arts (Tang Soo Do, Dan rank), fly fishing, hiking and backpacking, rock climbing, and golf being my favorites. I enjoy spending time with my family on vacations to the beach or the mountains of Colorado. I work as a business and product development process improvement consultant. I’m a certified lean six-sigma MBB and master problem solver using tools such as gap analysis, statistical engineering, value stream mapping, and empathetic design principles. In case you haven’t figured it out, I’m a geek.

Why I am a Mormon

As a 23 year old single father raising an infant girl, I had questions about God and his plan for me. I met a girl in a gourmet foods class and she talked to me about the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She introduced me to the missionaries who taught me about the eternal blessings of Heavenly Fathers Plan for me and my daughter. Everything they spoke about just made sense, and that’s not easy for someone like me who bases all their decisions on logic and reasoning. I was baptized and somehow convinced that girl from the gourmet foods class to be my wife.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others, especially the youth. My wife and I had the opportunity and pleasure of cooking for 430 girls at camp this summer. It was a lot of work, but we had fun spending time with our 16 year old daughters. The day after camp, I headed for Catalina Island for high adventure camp with the boys in our ward. Somehow I thought it was going be like a vacation, was I wrong. We hiked 14 miles, mountain biked 30 miles and canoed 16 miles all within 3 days. Again, a lot of work but the boys had a great time. I try to serve my neighbors and friends as much as possible.
