Hi I'm Carrie

I love my family and friends. I love to laugh and sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of five little girls. I am busy with everything from potty training to teaching piano lessons- and everything else that being "mom" entails. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English and a minor in Music. I work part-time for a standardized testing company and run a blog with my sisters. I enjoy composing music, playing the piano and clarinet, reading, drawing, backpacking, and cuddling up to my husband after all the little ones are finally in bed.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS family. All my life I have attended church and been taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. Despite all of this, I never really understood the absolute truthfulness of the teachings of the Church until I decided to serve a mission. I was called to serve in Bulgaria. When I first arrived in the country I looked around me and realized how big the world really is. I remember one day when I just sat and watched people walking around and tried to comprehend that every single person I saw was a child of God, just like me. As a missionary I stopped thinking about myself. My prayers and my thoughts were for the people I was trying to serve. I began to understand a small part of the great love that Jesus Christ has for us. I realized that everything I had been taught all my life centered around the Savior and the great sacrifice he made for us. I understood that the gospel of Jesus Christ and the message I was trying to share was the most important thing in the world and the only thing of any real value. Simply put, I am a "Mormon" because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in the church. The women's organization is so important to a mom like me who is at home with little ones all day. What can be more refreshing at the end of the day than to meet with other women who believe as you do and enjoy learning and sometimes playing together? I also treasure the visiting teaching program of the church. It gives me the opportunity to visit other women each month and to help them when they need it. These women have become my friends and they are the people I can rely on. At church, I have participated in planning uplifting activities for women and teaching gospel classes on Sundays. Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to teach music to the children ages 3-12. I love teaching songs that testify of Christ. In my community, I try to be a good neighbor and a volunteer at my children's school. I strive to be someone who is an example of Jesus Christ.
