Hi I'm Tonya

I grew up in Marietta, Georgia. I am a wife, mother, and daughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Marietta, Ga. I am now married and have 5 kids. I LOVE being a mom. It's for sure challenging at times, but what an amazing chance I have to be the teacher and leader to 5 of Heavenly Fathers children! Other than raising kids, I enjoy running. I've ran 3 marathons and completed (note: not competed! haha) a 1/2 IRONMAN. I love being active. Our family loves to go to the lake and wakeboard or tube during the hot summer months.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised Mornon. I felt what my parents and church leaders were teaching me was true, but it wasn't until I got into highschool and then graduated that I knew for a fact that this gospel was true. I attended early morning seminary all four years of highschool It was a class that taught me in depth the stories and teachings from the Book of Mormon and The Holy Bible. This is where my testimony really started to develope. After I graduated from highschool, I decided to leave Georgia and go out to Utah to go to college. It wasn't until then that I really had to rely upon what I was taught and believed. Without my parents around to 'make' me make good choices, I had to do it on my own. Being alone out in Utah with no family brought me closer to my Savior than ever before. I had read the Book of Mormon before this point in my life, but I really started studying from it and wanting to know FOR SURE if what I church I was attending was the true church. I recieved my answer, and it is undinably the true church.

How I live my faith

I attend church here in Arizona every sunday. I have served in many different areas within the church. I most recently was working with the Young Women (ages 12-18) I can't imagine not raising my kids not in the church. It brings nothing but happines to me and my family. Life is still going to have it's challenges, and being a a member of this church doesn't prevent challenges from coming. But it does equip me with the knowledge and spriitual strength to get me through the challenges that come to us.
