Hi I'm Jon

I am a physical therapist. I am a father of three and counting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young father of three with a baby on the way. I spend my spare time reading stories, changing diapers, cleaning messes, and wrestling with my children. I have been married for nine years and can't imagine living my life any other way. I have found true happiness in living my life primarily as a husband and a father. Professionally, I am a physical therapist. I have a passion for helping others and cherish the opportunities I have every day to help people get out of pain and back to living their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have experienced the joy that comes from living my life as God would have me live it. I was raised in a Mormon family and baptized at age eight. As such, I had the privilege of learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ and God's plan for me at a very young age. Through the years I have come to recognize the whisperings of the Holy Spirit and I feel a closeness to my Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. Living in such a way helps me to be a better husband to my wife, and a better father to my children. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides the answers to my most important questions in life: "Who am I?," "Why am I here?," and "What will happen to me after this life?" Knowing that God loves his children enough to reveal these answers through his chosen servants, the prophets, both ancient and modern, brings me peace and gives me clarity. I know who I am. I know God loves me. I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can be cleansed of my sins and can return to live with him again. Through the priesthood of God, restored to the earth, I can live with my family forever, together eternally. That is true joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through striving to live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and my ultimate example. Serving others is one important way I strive to follow Christ. I serve voluntarily in a presidency over a group of men, mostly fathers of families, who hold the priesthood. Together, the presidency serves to ensure that men and their families understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. We help and encourage them to live worthy lives, helping them to be the best husbands and fathers they can be. We provide service to meet their needs wherever we can. We visit them in their homes and foster fraternity through activities and recreation. In addition to service in the church, I live my faith at home. I, together with my wife, ensure that my family understands and lives the gospel of Christ. Together as a family we pray morning and night and before meals. We read the holy scriptures together each night. We encourage individual scripture study and personal prayer as well. We dedicate each Monday night as a "Family Night" and use this time to build family relationships, to play games together, and to learn of Christ and his teachings. I believe that there is nothing I can do professionally or otherwise that can ever be more important than being a worthy husband and father.
