Hi I'm Byron

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married and the father of seven wonderful children, and work in the environmental field in support of my family. I run for exercise and enjoy long road trips across the U.S. I'm fascinated with the American Alligator and like to photograph alligators in the wild.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and hold my membership sacred. God, our Heavenly Father, has a plan for us, his children, which we refer to as the Plan of Salvation. We weren't placed here on Earth by chance - this life has a purpose. Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and the central figure in God's Plan. Through His suffering, death and resurrection, we know that death is not the end. We have the opportunity to return to our Heavenly Father after this life and be with our families throughout eternity. The teachings of the Church provide the sacred truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and are sufficient for our Eternal Life, if we follow them. The Priesthood - or authority from God - is present within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. By virtue of the Priesthood, we are able to participate in the ordinances - such as baptism - which are necessary to return to our Heavenly Father. Membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gives purpose and direction for each member of my family. We can face life's challenges with confidence and eternal perspective. We are working toward our ultimate goal of being together forever, and the Church exists for this purpose.

How I live my faith

The Church provides opportunities to give meaningful service others. I have been asked by my leaders to serve in a position of leadership, which I am grateful to do. Additionally, I have been assigned to visit some of the families in our ward (congregation) on a regular basis, and help ensure that their physical and spiritual needs are addressed. Our family attends worship services every Sunday and participates in the various other activities. I live the Lord's law of health, in that I abstain from alcohol, tobacco, harmful drugs and other substances which do harm to our bodies. Physical strength is important to me.
