Hi I'm Colleen.

I am a wife and mother of four children. I am a daughter, sister, friend and teacher. I am happy when I serve others. I'm Mormon.

About Me

My name is Colleen and I have lived in Arizona for the past 32 years. I actually don't mind the heat and look forward to every spring when it starts to get warm. I have four children and have been married for 19 years. Six months of the year I spend time working as an instructor teaching young babies and toddlers how to swim and survive in the water. I feel the best about myself when I am serving or teaching others, epecially the little people of the world. The other six months I am a manicurist part time. When I have extra time, I enjoy spending time with my extended family and friends. I also like going for mountain bike rides in the Arizona desert with my family and our dog. I feel that nature is Heavenly Father's way of telling that He loves us.

Why I am a Mormon

Ten years ago I gave birth to my second child, a baby boy. I knew that I had a responsibility to teach him and his older sister about Jesus. I decided to go to the LDS church because the feeling I had when I went was a peaceful and welcoming feeling. It seemed that each Sunday the message was for me. I was touched by the service of the members. Women would come over to my house to check on me, and fellowship me. I loved that each family was assigned someone to watch over them. Like Jesus watches over his flock, the members were watching over one another. I have since this time read the Book of Mormon and I know that its teachings are true. I have prayed and know it is a true book of God. I know that Jesus died for me and for every soul on the earth. I am grateful for His atoning sacrifice and I fall short daily trying to be more like Him. I know that families can be together forever through our temples. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy serving in the church any way that I can. It makes me feel good when my children see me serving and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to others. Whether it be a meal to someone in need or teaching a lesson from the scriptures, I know they are watching and learning from my example. The knowledge that I now have about Jesus because of many teaching opportunies I have had, has strengthened me as woman, as a mother, and most importantly as a wife in my marriage. I know that when I am asked to do something there will be some sort of learning experience or blessing I will receive just by accepting a call to serve Heavenly Father and His children. I have so much more confidence in myself because of all of my experiences as a member of His church and I am grateful for service.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Colleen.
Family relationships can last forever—not just for this life. Just as some of life’s sweetest joys can come through family associations, the loss of a beloved family member can be a source of our deepest sorrows. Jesus Christ gave power to His disciples to seal families together forever when He said, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).
