Hi I'm Chay

I am a mother of 3 daughters, 2 son-in-laws, 2 granddaughters and my husband saved my life 25 years ago. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family of eight children. My husband is an Electrical Engineer and the love of my life. I was inactive when I met my husband but he and I were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple after being married for three years. We have three beautiful daughters. All I have ever wanted to do in my life, is be a mom. I have been fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom for 25 years and watch my family grow up. It is so rewarding to see my oldest daughter be a mother as well. My two granddaughters are an incredible blessing in my life and I cannot get enough of them. We as a family enjoy spending as much time together as possible. We have access to a lake and spend most weekends boating together. I love to waterski, snow ski, and have recently grown a love for quilting. I have the opportunity to attend an institute class every week and a temple session afterwards. My husband and I love to travel and have had many opportunities to do so. I love the gospel with all my heart and have developed such a great love for my Savior through diligently reading my scriptures. I don't know where I would be without Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a very active family. The gospel was all I really new. My true conversion however, came after I had begun to have my own family. Seeing how much I needed the help of my Savior to raise my own family and to truly be happy. Experiencing life with and without the gospel gave me the opportunity to gain a true testimony of my own instead of relying on those around me. I have developed a relationship with my Savior and gained a testimony of the gospel and know that the church is true. That my Savior atoned for my sins and that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, I can live with Him and my family for eternity. I know that I am a daughter of God and that he knows me personally. I know that He knows my strengths and my weaknesses and that he would never ask for move of me than I can handle. Having that knowledge gives me a purpose and hope in life. It gives me a reason to try and keep the commandments and follow his example of Christlike attributes. I am grateful to have a living Prophet on the earth who receives divine inspiration to help us in these latter days. I am grateful for the scriptures and don't know what I would do without their help and guidance every day. My life is so much happier when I am doing those things consistently.

How I live my faith

Currently i have the opportunity to be serving in the Young Women's group as a Beehive Advisor. There are three advisors and the second councilor. We have 20 girls in our group and I absolutely love being able to serve them. We rotate teaching on Sundays and I love the weekly activities. The youth in our ward are incredible. Their spirit and energy are so inspirational to me. They have taught me so much and make me want to be a better person. I hope that I can help teach them that they are daughters of our Heavenly Father who loves them and knows them personally and that they have been saved for this generation and that they have an important work to do. We are going to have a new temple built a few miles away from where we live and it's so exciting to watch the people in our community being able to be a part of that. We will soon be able to go there and do the work for those who never had the opportunity to do it for themselves.
