Hi I'm Tim

I am a husband, a father, an engineer, a military history buff, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a engineer by training and have worked within the Oil & Gas industry for nearly 30 years, and am currently employed as a marketing representative for a seismic company. I am keenly interested in history, especially military history and family history. I am always intrigued as to how things work and how they are put together. I am married and the father of two grown sons both of whom are engineers.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but during my teenage years became very prideful and rebellious and chose to stop attending church and become inactive. I remained outside the church for nearly 25 years and it wasn't until a local member of the church invited me to begin reading the scriptures and to pray about the truthfulness of the gospel that I truly became converted. I have come to know for myself that Jesus is the Christ, our Redeemer, our Savior. That he did in fact live, that he atoned for our sins, that he was crucified, and he rose again. That he is the God of the Old Testament and that he and our Heavenly Father, appeared to Joseph Smith to restore the true gospel to the Earth. I have come have a knowledge and witness of these things not through the testimonies of others, but through diligent scripture study, fasting, prayer, and a faith that I would receive an answer to my questions from our Heavenly Father. It is hard to describe in words the strength and peace this knowledge provides me each and every day. Through continued prayer and studying the scriptures I have gained a very personal relationship with our Heavenly Father, and truly see him as my Father in heaven. I know that I can go to him with every issue and question and that through faith and patience I will receive an answer to my petitions. I have truly experienced a change of heart, and now strive each day, to follow the example of our savior, Jesus Christ, and in doing so find that I am richly blessed in so many ways it is difficult to count. I express my appreciation each day for that dutifully member that faithfully challenged me to pick up the scriptures and starting reading and to pray about what I read, and for the wonderful blessing this has brought into my life.

How I live my faith

My calling in the church is to work with the young men who are participating in Cub Scouts, specifically Bear Scouts. This is a wonderfully calling in seeing these young 9 years as they are just beginning to mature into the young people they will become. I am constantly amazed at their enthusiasm and knowledge of both Cub scouting and the gospel. They are a wonderful example to me and I find that I often learn more from them then I could ever teach them. I also have the opportunity to visit several families in our ward each month, with a companion, and see how they are doing. We have the opportunity to share a gospel message with them and learn from them how they are striving to live the gospel each day. Again, these humble families are a wonderfully example and strength to me as well.
