Hi I'm Julirae

I'm a mom, a grandma, and a grad student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For the most part I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read, play the piano, do counted cross stitch, sew, and quilt. I'm also a graduate student in clinical psychology, an area that I find fascinating. Having said all that my main hobby/job is my children and grandchildren. My husband and I have a his, mine, and ours family. Five of his, six of mine, and two of ours, yes you counted right that's 13 children, which we've now expanded to include 2 sons-in-law and 2 adorable granddaughters. Life is always busy and changing around my house, but we love it and our family.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't think I've ever really thought about why I'm a Mormon until now. It is such a part of who I am and what I believe in that I find it hard to seprate one from the other. In part the belief in the role of the eternal family is so very important to me that I would say that is one reason I'm a Mormon. But the bigger picture is that I have a Heavenly Father that knows and loves me personally, He knows my name, my strengths, and my weaknesses and he doesn't care that I'm not perfect just that I am trying to be what he sees me capable of becoming.

How I live my faith

I've had all the usual calls of a woman in the church, Relief Society, Primary, Nursery, etc, but by far my favorite is working as a Family History Consultant. Early in my life I was introduced to genealogy by my mother as she worked on an old typewriter with these long family group sheets. Today Family History has evolved and is so fascinating for anyone to be involved in. It is so fun to see someone's eyes light up when they find that ancestor that's been patiently waiting to be found. It's all about the journey!
