Hi I'm Katie

I'm a Full-time Mother, I'm an avid runner, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado the fourth child of eight. I attended College in Idaho, and Utah, and ultimately got a technical degree so I could put my husband through his Masters program. I have a huge goal of someday finishing my own degree, but right now I am a full-time Mother to three wonderfully different active children who take an amazing amount of time and energy. I wake up before the sun every morning to read my scriputes, pray while it's still quiet, and eat a little bit, so I can get outside to run. To me, that is the best time of my day! Watching the sun come up and having the oppurtunity to be alone in my head so that I can think about the scriptures I've just read or to pray some more is so rejuvenating. I find that by taking care of myself both spiritally and physically I can meet the demands of my life with a more positive outlook.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into an LDS family, however I was not particularly active in the church as a teenager. There seemed to be so many more interesting things out there. I'm sure my parents must have prayed and been patient with me for a long while before it became clear to me that living this religion was so much more easy than fighting against it. I love getting involved in the scriptures, reading and studing. There is always something written just for me, regardless of the situation I find myself in on any given day. I'm always truly humbled by the answers I receive through reading the Book of Mormon. I'm comforted to know that Heavenly Father knows me and knows what I struggle with, what my joys are and that He speaks to me through His spirit, a living prophet, and through the scriptures.

How I live my faith

It's really important to me that I am always in a position to hear the voice of the Lord. There are moments in my life where I step into a situation with my children where I realize, I know nothing! However, my children were Heavenly Father's children first and He knows exactly what they need. If I live in a way that I can receive impressions as to what I can do to help them find their way home to Him, I know I'm doing my best to live what I believe.
