Hi I'm Mark

I am a husband and a father to four boys. I am a native to Arizona, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a wonderful woman that I married almost twenty years ago. I have four very active boys who love life and keep us very busy. For 10 years, I enjoyed coaching my boys in soccer. They have all gone on to excel in all kinds of sports including wake boarding, volleyball, soccer, and basketball. My wife and I love to watch them play. I enjoy motorcycle riding in the mountains with my boys. I love nature, especially the mountains in northern Arizona with Pine trees. I am an entrepreneur, and have had several businesses in my life. I enjoy working with people and finding ways to help make things successful. My wife and I enjoy traveling and taking trips as a family. I enjoy working with youth. My mother and father were both very good examples of love and service. My father was killed in a mountain climbing accident while on a Boy Scout outing with me when I was 12 years old.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, and had parents who taught us the teachings and principals of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I always felt good about the teachings that I was taught as a youth, but it wasn't until I was preparing to serve a mission for the church that I decided that I really needed to know for sure if these things that I had been taught were true. I had to know for surety that they were true if I was going to spend two years away from home teaching these truths to others. I studied and read the book of mormon more than I had ever done in my life, and I put the scripture in the Book of Mormon in Moroni 10:3-5 to the test. That is when I received a confirmation that everything that I had been taught was in fact true, and that I could go on my mission and teach those truths with confidence. My fathers death had a great impact on my life, and the knowledge that I would be able to be with him again was very comforting. My life's experiences and the spirit that I had felt, helped me to teach with conviction while serving my mission in Houston, Texas. I have realized that as we stay close to the spirit, that we can receive the help that we need to get through life's challenges. I am grateful that the priesthood was restored to the earth and that we have a living prophet today that gives us direction that the Lord would want us to have. Families can be together for the eternities through ordinances and covenants that we make in the Temple. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is about loving and serving others. Because there is not a paid ministry in the church, everyone has the opportunity to serve others. I love that about the church!! I have had the chance to work with so many people in so many different areas. I have mainly been able to work with the youth of the church. This has been rewarding as I have been able to see them grow and develop. The values and standards that they learn and begin to practice in their lives, help give them a strong foundation for the pressures and challenges that they face daily. I really enjoy visiting the different families from our congregation. I am assigned four families that I visit on a monthly basis to make sure that they are doing good. One family I have been visiting for over 8 years. I have really come to love these families as I have served them. That is the beauty of serving others, you take the focus off of yourself and the challenges that you may be facing. The best way to show people your beliefs is through your example and the way you live your life. I hope that when people see me, they know that I love the Lord, by the way that I treat others.
