Hi I'm Robert

I'm a father of two, I love cars, I'm studying mechanical engineering, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm currently a junior in college studying mechanical engineering. I love cars, especially sports cars, and can't wait to start restoring my 1973 Datsun 240z when I finish my degree. I intern with a company doing engineering instrumentation and design. I served a mission in Italy in 2005 and 2006 and speak fluent Italian. My greatest accomplishments are marrying my wife and being father to my 2 beautiful daughters. My family motivates me and makes me try harder at everything I do. My wife is my biggest fan and supports me in everything I try to do.

Why I am a Mormon

In high school I was challenged by my friends on several occasions to explain why I chose to continue being Mormon. I had a testimony of the Gospel and shared with them that I believed that God answers prayers and that I had received my own witness of the truthfulness of the church, the strength of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and the blessings of obedience to the commandments. On my mission my testimony grew in unexpected ways. I was called to serve in 2005 in the Italy Catania mission and spent my entire mission on the isle of Sicily. While I was there I became very ill. The entire mission, nearly 100 young men and women prayed that I could be healed if it were the Lord's will. As i saw my fellow missionaries I gained a testimony of the love the savior has for me. With every prayer offered I knew that not only did the Lord love me, He KNEW me. After just one year my mission was called to an end and I was sent home to recover from my illness. This was one of the most difficult experiences of my life, I was in extreme pain, and no doctor seemed to know what was wrong or how to help me. Despite all this I was happy. I knew the comfort that is offered by the Lord and his atonement. I knew that He knew me personally, as an individual. A little over a year later through a miracle of the Lord I was restored to my full health. I learned that Christ knew me individually, and knew the physical, emotional, and spiritual pains I suffered. I know that Jesus Christ knows each of us as individuals. He knows our pains, our joys, our dreams, fears and desires, and that in him we can find rest from the problems of this world.

How I live my faith

We are blessed to have a place to worship and it is my responsibility to organize an effort within the congregation to care for our chapel. Every other month I am responsible to ensure that our church building is clean and a place where the Holy Ghost can testify of truth. I love my responsibility and it reminds me that we worship with more than just prayer and scripture reading, but we can worship the Lord in anything we do, even scrubbing toilets and mopping floors.
