Hi I'm Dave

I grew up in Oregon, Texas and Arizona. I have 5 boys. I'm a husband and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm happily married and the father of 5 wonderful boys. The nice thing about raising 5 boys is you never have to dust your house because the dust never settles. I work in the health care field and absolutely love my job. I feel so blessed to have a job I enjoy. I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, reading (mainly non-fiction), and being with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are converts to the church. Growing up in the church, I always felt that it was true. I could see the effects it had on my family and friends. The teachings always made sense to me; however, as I began to prepare to serve a mission for the chuch I decided I needed to know for myself. I decided if I was going to go teach others about the gospel of Jesus Christ I needed to do more than "think" it was true. I needed to know it was true. It took me some time, but after reading the Book of Mormon, pondering the teachings of Christ, and fervently praying I came to know for sure that this Christ's church.

How I live my faith

My faith in Christ guides every action I take. The understanding I have of the purpose of life affects the way I look at myself, others, and the world. In the church I have had the opportunity to serve others. Most often I have taught the youth (ages 14 -18). I am contiually amazed how strong the youth are inspite of the general moral decay around them. The commandments are truly there to protect us and to help us to became happy. I've noticed this in my own life as well. As I have tried to follow the example of the Savior, I 've become truly happy. Not that my life has been easy because of my faith, but the perspective the gosple brings allows me to be happy even during difficult times.
