Hi I'm Cheryl

I grew up in Tempe, Arizona. I taught school and was a Youth in Custody Site Coordinator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired classroom teacher, a mother of five children, and a grandmother of 16 grandchildren. I find great satisfaction in serving others in the church and in my community. Gardening, simple quilting, photojournalism, reading, and playing the piano are among my interests.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined this church as a college student. When I heard the message of the missionaries, read the scriptures, and listened with an open heart, it sounded familiar. It was as if I had heard it all before. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ had been restored here upon the earth. As I continue to study the scriptures daily, more and more of the truths of the gospel are revealed to me. I love this church, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the growth I receive by living it's precepts. The gospel of Jesus Christ with it's principles are the only way for me to live my life. I am grateful for Jesus Christ and the Atonement, for my Heavenly Father and the many blessings He has afforded me in my life.

How I live my faith

I am a leader of a young women's organization. In this organization we work with our youth teaching them about faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and virtue. Our young women also learn leadership skill, gospel principles, and prepare themselves to be productive members of society. In this organization we also plan and carry out social and religious based events. In other areas of service in this church, I play the piano when opportunities arise. Along with a teaching partner, I visit five adult women in their homes, teaching gospel principles, friend shipping, and assisting them in any way we can.
