Hi I'm Cris

I'm a Mormon. I graduated from Shelton High. I spent 20 years in the Army and retired here in Cheney, working in Medical Lake WA.

About Me

I am a husband to a wonderful wife and together we have 6 children. I am active in our Scouting program as four of my boys are either in Cub Scouts or Boy Scouts. I completed my Masters degree in Human Resource Development and am currently an agent at Paikuli and Associates.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to this faith by my father who happens to be an agnostic. he was impressed by a man he bunked with in Vietnam and sought information on the church when he returned home. While he is still agnostic, I have have embraced the warmth and love I feel when ever I attend a meeting, so I am quite active.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the bishopric of our ward, which is kind of similar to that of a deacon, where we are a lay ministry. I work with the youth in both Scouting and Young Women as well as primary age children in cub scouting.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Baptism is a way for each new member to make covenants, or promises with their heavenly father. Among them is the wiping away of previous sins with the promise that the individual will try to live a pure and clean life from that point on. it is the first step on the road to eternal happiness. How does the Church finance its operations?

Each member pays a tithe of their earnings to the church, who in turn, use those tithes to fund church buildings, and daily operations. We also can pay what is called a fast offering which is used to help pay for those who may need help with food, or paying bills. Show more Show less
