Hi I'm Jen

I am a wife and mother of three. I love to sew. I love to create. I love to organize. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for almost 10 years and still love my husband and my life. We hate moving, but do it often. When we married, I was under the impression that I would have an optometrist for a husband. After obtaining a bachelors degree, my sweet love imformed me that he was now going to get his real estate license. My firt thought was I STRONGLY DISLIKE REALTORS! They are obnoxioius, pompous, and arrogant. As my grandfather and father had been homebuilders my entire life, I knew how sketchy this market was. When things are good they are really good. When things are bad, they are really hard. That being said, I supported his decision and within a year, we were out of my parents house and above the poverty line for the first time since we married 4 years earlier. We had to put our names in for drawings and stand in long lines to try to buy our first home. There were none to be had. Luckily the homebuilder we worked for opened a new subdivision in our area and we had first dibs. So we bought our first home, and 10 months later found our dream home for sale in the same neighborhood. So we bought our second home that same year and moved again. Alas, as predicted the housing market bubble did pop. We held in there for a while, but after losing a job, the homes and fancy cars followed. We have helped each other through the ups and downs and although the fight is far from over, we have an amazing support system of friends, family, and neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a mormon family. I have always been one who does what they are told and follows directions. So attending meetings and being active in our youth group was just something I did. While this gave me a direction from birth, I have still had to find and prove the gospel on my own. By testing the principles I had been taught, over the course of my teenage and adult years, I have gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows who I am. It is hard to express the deep love I feel from and toward my Father in Heaven. He teaches me in such a personal way through my experiences. I am SO greatful for my Savior Jesus Christ who loves me and died for me. I love the scriptures and how much I learn each time I read from them. So many doubt the legitimacy of the Book of Mormon, but after reading it and praying about it, I dont know how any person can come to any other conclusion but that it is true. After reading all scriptures, Bible and Book of Mormon I can not deny the presense of a Living Prophet on the earth. There are many things I still dont understand. As I am prayerful, my understanding is always enlarged for what I need in that moment. So often I feel like an ant trying to understand a computer. I may not understand all things, but that does not negate the reality of its existence.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live what I believe. I am so glad that I get to work with the youth in our congregation. I have been asked to help teach the 12 - 13 yr old girls on Sundays, and help organize and participate in uplifting activities with these girls each Wednsday night. Once a year, I have been asked to help with our girls camp. We take a large group of our girls caming for a week and teach them and help them to understand that they are daughters of God. That they have great worth, and help them learn about their divine nature. It is a wonderful time seeing these young women recognize how special they are. I love being a part of this program!
