Hi I'm Carol

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 52 year old woman who has been married to my wonderful husband for 33 years! We have had a wonderful life so far, we have 4 great kids who are all married and we have 7 grandchildren. I have enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, sewing being the most dominate. I also enjoy counted cross stitch, scrapbooking and keeping my home. I belong to a club of women who work all year making Christmas decorations and gifts that we sell the first weekend of December and give the money to kids in the greater Phoenix area as scholarships to Arizona schools. It is a very rewarding thing we do! I also walk in the Breast Cancer 3day 60 mile walks each year. This will be my 5th time to raise money for the Susan G Komen for the Cure charity. I love it!! We have lived in Arizona for the past 11 years, although I don't enjoy the desert, all our family is here and so I make the best of it. We also have a boxer, Charley, who keeps us going!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptised when I was 9 and living in Hawaii. My dad had been baptised when he was young, but was never active in church. It showed on his military records that he was LDS, so when we got to Hawaii, home teachers were assigned to visit our family. My mom wanted nothing to do with the church, but my sister and I started taking the missionary lessons and they allowed us to be baptised. We continued to go to church by ourselves as we grew up. My sister is 7 years older than me, so she got married well before me. It upset my mom when she was married in the Los Angeles Temple and she could not go, but my sister did it anyway. A few years later when I met my husband to be, I waited for him to serve his mission and we were married in the Mesa Temple 4 months after he returned. We arranged for the missionaries to visit with my parents on the day that we were married and show them the film on Temples. Little did we know, but my mom started taking the lessons then and asked my husband to baptise her 3 months later. My dad became active and they served in many callings during their activity. Unfortunately, they let things get in the way of their faith and they fell away from the church. This also happened to my sister and her family. I am the only active one left in my family. I sometimes wonder about what could have been so great to pull them away from the church after Temple marriages and years of activity, but Satan is strong and can over take some people.

How I live my faith

I am honest in my dealings with everyone, I try to do as much good as I can and be the proper example of the gospel that I love so much. I fulfill all my callings and do all that I can to help those around me. I love the gospel and all that it offers me!
