Hi I'm Christian

I like to go hiking in the mountains with my dog. I am from a small town. I love to play tennis. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports. I grew up playing baseball. Right before I entered high school, I switched to tennis and I never looked back. I also love to play basketball. I live within quick walking distance of the mountains. I hike there frequently with my dog named Shasta. It took me years to convince my parents to let me get her but it was worth it. I was in the chess club the same year I was on the school basketball team. I am currently writing a novel. If I am lucky, I will finish it before my life ends. I like Arizona. I love to collect currency from all over the world. I play the drum set. I am now going to college. I build wooden furniture. I enjoy fishing and building Legos, but not at the same time. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is a make-sense religion. It is just as the title proclaims-- Saints (people) who belong to Christ's church. This is the same church that was on the earth in Bible times. Saying that we are Christ's one and only church is a large claim. How did I come to believe this? I came to know by the same way that anyone can come to know the mysteries of God. I prayed to God. I sought council from Him. Yes, I was born and raised in this church, but I had to find out for myself if it was true. This is what everyone has to do. You can't learn God's truth from anyone but God. Decisions that affect the rest of eternity need to be treated with importance. I can't just go with the flow and end up somewhere where I don't want to be. I can tell you with assurance that I am a Mormon because I know that this is the path that God wants me on. I have received that answer from him. God wants me to be happy-- for ever. He teaches us what we need to do to allow us to do just that. By following his example I am happy. This is what God wants for me. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

We have been given the blessing of having a modern-day prophet here on the earth today that is just like the prophets of ancient days. He gives us revelation from God who tells us what we can do to make us happy. I live my religion by following the prophet. I have full confidence that the council he gives will keep me safe no matter what happens in the world. His advice includes being prepared for the future, serving others, reading the scriptures, going to church, living the golden rule, avoiding addictions, and serving God. I do what God wants me to do. I know that because of it I will be blessed.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Yes. If Christ has enough power to be resurrected, what could stop Him from traveling a bit? Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. Just like Christians don't worship Moses or Noah, the same is true for us and Joseph Smith. He was just a prophet of God, not Deity. Since Joseph Smith, there has always been a prophet on the earth with the same authority from God. Show more Show less
