Hi I'm Melanie

I love to read and talk about books. I am a wife and a mother of one and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a "Mainer" by birth. I lived there until 16, when my family moved to Arizona. I have lived here since then except for the 1 1/2 I spent in France on a mission for the Church. I came from a large family and we remain close. I am married to a good man and we have one adult son, who is the joy of my life. I love to read many types of books, great literature, memoirs, biographies, non-fiction and on occasion a little 'chick-lit'. I love to learn about new things. I am a 'word nerd' and love any games and puzzles having to do with language and words.

Why I am a Mormon

I happened to be born to family that was already Mormon for several generations. Why I have remained with the Church and believe it, is because I have studied and prayed and know that it is the right way to live. I know that my Heavenly Father loves and cares about me and hears my prayers. I know that Jesus lived on earth, was resurrected and lives today. I am grateful to Him for His atonement that allows me to repent and continue to make my life better. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and then through their direction restored the Lord's Church to earth. I know that we have a modern day prophet to guide us today. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. My life is better when I am living the principles of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I currently teach the 11 year-old children. This year we are studying the New Testament. I love teaching these precious children about the Savior. They are so willing and eager to learn and I also love the example they are to me. I also sing in our ward choir. I am by no means a professional singer, but I so enjoy sharing my love for my Savior and the Gospel through music. At work and in my community I strive to always be kind and loving to those I meet.
