Hi I'm Helen

I'm from Oregon, I'm a college student, and I'm a complete music nerd. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a music nerd. I play the oboe and the piano, and I sing. I am a college student majoring in music education, but I am currently serving an 18-month mission for the Church. I hope to bring many souls to Christ by helping them to receive His restored Gospel. After college, I want to teach middle and high school band and choir. I am excited to teach because those kids are learning at a very critical time in their lives. The decisions they make at that age will greatly influence their future, and they have only lived a few short years so far. I remember how hard it was to be a teenager, and I hope I can help some of them through that time through music. I know that music can be used for good and for evil, and I want to teach young people that it can be used for good. The most important training I will give will be in my own home, to my own children.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. My parents are both converts. My mom was baptized when she turned 18 following the example of her brother, and my dad was baptized at the age of 9 with his family. They both grew up in homes where religion was not a priority, but when they got married they agreed that they would raise their children in the Church and do their best to nurture a family that will be strong not only in this life, but throughout eternity.

How I live my faith

I have been called as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In this calling, I spend 18 months inviting others to come to Christ. I teach members and non-members about Jesus Christ, His gospel, and what is expected of us in this earth life.
