Hi I'm Dani

I am a mother of 3 amazing children. I am a photographer, designer, and aspiring writer/illustrator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 9 wonderful years, we have 2 biological children, and our baby boy is adopted. We hope to adopt again soon. I consider myself a stay at home mom, but do contribute to our photography company by taking photos and designing all sorts of stuff. I love photoshop!!! When I grow up, I'd really like to be an illustrator, and also get a masters someday in marriage and family counciling. My biggest goal, though, is to succeed at my job as mother, and support my hubby who is getting a masters in counciling now. I love to travel and see new places. I love to cook new foods, and I love to decorate. It is always fun to create something great and valuable out of something one would consider "less valuable." My favorite instrument is the piano and is often what I do to destress. I like dancing and going to the ballet. I pretty much like most forms of live entertainment. I see very few movies. I have run a few races with my family and friends, and take great interest in physical health and healthy cooking. I, most of all, just love spending time with my family and sharing all of these things with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am actually an 8th generation Mormon. That is not the reason why I am a Mormon, but I do love that my heritage shares something with me that is so important to me. All but one line of my family joined the church before crossing the plains as pioneers. The one family that didn't, my great grandfather was the one to join. I was given the opportunity to learn of the Church of Jesus Christ all growing up. I was excited to be baptized at a young age, and have learned to love Christ's church as His principles helped me grow up. I have prayed to know of its truthfulness and have felt the Holy Ghost lead and direct my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy. Even if those around me are making the wrong choices, I find peace by following my Savior. I love him and have learned of him by following His prophet.

How I live my faith

While I was a young adult, I served a mission in Salk Lake City at the temple in the center of the city. I was able to meet people from all over the world and share my testimony of Jesus Christ. I also served with missionaries from all over, together we spoke over 40 languages. It was one experience where I have seen that Christ is Lord over the whole earth. The Church of Jesus Christ is the same all over the earth, and He loves us all the same. Now I live with people mostly like me, and though the culture isn't as diverse we still pull together, kind of like a family, and help each other live the commandments. In a world that teaches us to make choices that make one unhappy, it is nice to have others around that want to be happy. My favorite "job" to have at church is with the youth, and I have had many opportunities to be with them, teach them, and plan activities with them. Currently I have been asked to teach sunday school to the adults. It has been such a humbling calling for me to teach those who could be teaching me, but the Lord set up his church to have us teach each other, there is no paid clergy, and we all take turns. And in turn, I have learned so much by doing this service. My greatest blessings from my Heavenly Father have come when I am willing to give service to His other children, and the Church of Jesus Christ gives me opportunity after opportunity to do such a thing. I love my Savior and Heavenly Father, and I felt their love for me and it is one of the greatest things I have ever known. I have also felt their love for others as I have been given the opportunity to serve them, and that is one of the things that makes me so happy to be apart of His great church.
