Hi I'm Richard

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The great thing about life is as you grow older and have more experiences is you get to glean from the best. I love my family, my job, being a Varsity Coach and my opportunity to be of service to others. Boy Scouts of America and working with young men have enriched my life and given me the privilege of being outdoors, participating in high adventure activities and living history, "Waugh Pilgrim". Grandchildren help keep things in perspective, you can love them, spoil them and then send them home to their parents. My extended family is great as well. We get together as often as we can and share activities or events that help to build bridges between the cousins, aunts and uncles and my mom. All of these individuals are a blessing in my life. It is a privilege to surrounded by good people.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because there is no better way on earth to learn correct principles and understand how to interact with all of the people that are on the earth. It is imperative to understand that each of us are sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. I know this as a fact in my life. I am a spiritual being having an earthly experience, not a earthly being looking for spiritual experiences. I say that in this way, because the spiritual part of who I am has been prodded, tested, tried and challenged. The correct principles that I have learned have given me the ability to meet the test of those life experiences and for the most part, make good decisions. I am not perfect, I am a sinner, but the Savior through the atonement has given me the opportunity to be forgiven, to seek to align myself with what he has revealed through living prophets and make changes in my life that help me be a better person.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? By being congruent, walking the walk, consistently responding to challenges (opportunities in work clothes) that give us the places to test who we say we are is very important to me. I hope when someone meets me they learn that I am the same in front of them as I am a hundred miles away. Do I loose it every once in a while? Yes I do, but that gives me the opportunity to repent, change what I have done, ask for forgiveness and act in a better way. Service to others and being Christ like in my behavior is the goal that I have for myself. Being involved in my community thru volunteering on Town Boards or being a standup person at work or challenging young men thru Boy Scouts of America or serving the families that I am responsible for in my ward or helping at home or bugging my grandchildren keep me involved with my commitments to my faith. I know that I am loved by a Savior that inspires me to be a better person than I am. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. I know that living prophets, just like Moses are on the earth today. Heavenly Father loves his children today just as he did in the time of Adam, the time of Noah and the time of Christ. He is providing answers to the important challenges that face all of us through the scriptures, answers to prayer and prophets that speak for him today.
