Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona, I'm a full-time mom, a part time wedding invitation dealer, a devoted wife and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and wife first and foremost. I married Chad in 2000, and we have been best friends ever since. He makes me laugh constantly. I love being able to stay at home with my daugther during the day while my two others go to school. My oldest is a daughter, then a son and then another daughter. We love each of their different personalities even though it is challenging to work with them as they are getting older and growing into themselves more. When you add in the extra variable of Autism somedays it can be a lot. My son is autistic. Right at his year birthday we could tell something was going awry. He was diagnosed at 18 months old and we have been working with him ever since. He is an angel in our lives (most days!) and we are happy that he is part of our family. I am happy of my accomplishments outside of family as well. I sell wedding invitations and think it is so much fun to work with girls in their preparation for one of the happiest days in their lives. In 2008 I received my degree in History from ASU (ten years in the making!) It was a lot of hard work, but with immense satisfaction that I completed it.

Why I am a Mormon

You could say that I am Mormon because I was raised that way. My family are all Mormons and it was natural to continue with them. As you get older, though, you have to decide to continue on in the faith. It is easy to get distracted from the things that you need and should do, its your faith that hold you to what you know is right. I am Mormon because I have a testimony that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He spoke with them as one man would speak to another and he was prepared to lead the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because it is the only church that has Priesthood authority here on the earth. We have a living prophet that is constantly guided and inspired through that priesthood for modern day revelation. I am a Mormon because I can receive inspiration for myself through the power of the Holy Ghost. As I live worthily I can be guided through my daily decisions and be comforted through my trials. I am a Mormon because through the Holy Ghost I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It was written by men of God who lived on the earth and they kept records to help us, me, in our day. I am a Mormon because it is something that I can not deny.

How I live my faith

Currently I live my faith by working with the young women in our ward. I can definitely say that it is a priviledge to do so. They are so faithful and kind to one another. Its a role that doesnt necessarily come naturally, but having been given the authority to work with that has blessed my life and I can tell that Heavenly Father is helping me give these girls what they need. It keeps me busy but I love it and will be so sad that day that I am released.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Emily
Absolutely not. As a member I constantly look for opportunities to help those around me either in my faith or outside. We are all children of our Heavenly Father and as such we need to take care of each other. Show more Show less
