Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a mom. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town. Town is probably a little too big, more like a ranching community. Most of my memories growing up were working and playing with my family. I now live in the city, but I hope that one day my kids will live in "the sticks" like I did growing up. Following high school, I went to college, and every summer I would returm home to work for my family's road construction business. I would sweat it out on a paving crew or in a crusher pit, so I would have enough money to return to school in the fall. I earned a degree in physical education and health. I married my best friend, and now we have two crazy kids. My family is awesome! I have taken up running, and I have completed a marathon and a few half marathons. I never thought I would enjoy running, but I really enjoy challenging myself in something I once showed absolute no interest in. I love watching movies. My ideal day is getting stuff done in the morning, so about one o'clock I can watch a favorite movie. This rarely happens.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ is there for me. He loves me always. I can feel His love, but especially on days that I feel like I am struggling and I need to feel His love. As I get to know Him better by studying the Bible and Book of Mormon, going to church, and visiting the temple I can feel His presence in my life even more. When I pray to my Heavenly Father I thank Him for my Savior. Because of Jesus Christ's sacrifice for me, I can be with my family forever. I love my family so much. I cannot imagine an existence that would not allow me to continue to have these relationships that mean so much to me.

How I live my faith

My family and I have regular family prayer and scripture study, and it really helps us feel the love of Jesus Christ in our home. Feeling the love of our Savior encourages us to be kind and want to help those in our family and in our community. I help to organize the Sunday school programs for all the children 12 and younger. I also help organize mid-week activities for children ages 8-11. I feel very blessed to work with these young disciples of Christ.
