Hi I'm Linda

I am a mother, grandmother and animal lover. I am a native of Colorado. I enjoy being retired and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Colorado. I enjoy living here because we have a blizzard and in a blink of an eye we have sunshine. I am 67 years old and happily retired moving back to Brighton after moving from here 30years ago. I worked as a Senior Process Analyst for a large communications company for 18 years and enjoyed my work. I really did start in the mail room and worked my way up to management. I am blessed with one son and one grand son. I love to work in my vegetable and flower gardens. I have been known to park my car and ask if I can pick a flower that has gone to seed so I can plant the seed in my yard. I have some health issues that do not allow me to give all the service I would like to provide, but I am blessed by helping others. Our trials do not seem so great when we are in the service of others.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with Mormon neighbors. They were a "real" family showing love and respect for each other and set a great example for me. My family was not so loving even though they did the best they could at that time. When the missionaries talked to me about what Mormons believe in I realized I had the same beliefs and knew the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) was the church I wanted to be baptized into. I have never been sorry for my decision. I am far from perfect, but I strive to be better every day. I believe that Mormons who accept assignments are called from God through revelation received from the Holy Ghost. Our church leaders do not receive any salary or money for their assignments. I know that God lives and that Jesus Christ suffered and died for me so I can live for all eternity. Our church leaders do their work because they love us. I know we have living prophets today who give us spiritual guidance just like the prophets we read about in the Old and New Testaments and the Book of Mormon. I feel JOY, PEACE and COMFORT when I follow the principles I have been taught from the bible, the Book of Mormon and my classes taught through the church. You will notice as you read about other Mormons that we all feel great JOY that comes from being members of the Mormon church. People say the Book of Mormon is the work of the Devil who wants to turn us away from God and Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon teaches us the greatness of God and Jesus Christ. I know the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith for our benefits. I love to feel The Spirit when I am living my religion. I AM SO THANKFUL I HAD GOOD MORMON NEIGHBORS WHEN I WAS GROWING UP.

How I live my faith

I do work in our community by volunteering at the health fairs. I love being a visiting teacher. Women in the church are asked to be visiting teachers. We are given( through prayer) a list of sisters to visit at least once a month to share gospel lessons and look for ways to give service. I accept callings (church assignments) because I feel that God has asked me, through revelation, to take on this responsibility. God gives me so many blessings every day and I can repay him by doing what he asks of me. I was called to work in the church nursery and in our children's organization (Primary) where we teach the children to sing and learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was called to work in our woman's organization (Relief Society) to teach and give aid to those in need. I have volunteered and been called to work in the Temple. The Temple gives great peace and joy to all those who enter its' doors. Temples are sacred places. I now have been called to help members and non-members do their family history. The church has many Family History Centers where any non-member and member can find their ancestors. I feel a special spirit when I locate an ancestor and bring my family members closer together. I want to help others feel the spirit and joy of finding their ancestors. I enjoy getting to know my neighbors and strive to set a good example for them. I say my prayers every day to thank God for all my blessings and ask for blessings to be given to others in need. I read my scriptures every day so I can learn more about God and Jesus Christ from the old prophets. I read my copies of the Ensign (church) magazines that teach lessons given by our prophets today. I am truly blessed for doing the things my Heavenly Father asks of me. I pray to God for help with my health issues so I can continue to give service to others and be able to attend church meetings. My life is truly full of joy, peace and comfort.
