Hi I'm Danesa

I'm a wife, a mother and a crafter and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona for most of my life and then in high school my dad moved our family to California where I finished out my last 2 years. After I graduated I left California to come back to Arizona to attend ASU, which is where I met my husband of now 11 years. I will be the first to admit that marriage isn't easy and we have definietly had our ups and downs but I think that we have grown together through our experiences. I attended college for 2 1/2 years, with the intention of getting a degree in Secondary Education to teach high school, until I found I was expecting our first child. I never finished my Education degree, but instead found an accredited online career school where I earned an associates degree in Interior Decorating. Unfortunately due to the economy I have not been able to pursue this career path but instead have put to use my knowledge to make my home comfortable. I have also loved making things. My mother taught me how to sew at a young age. I am part of a crafter and blogger community where I live and have met new friends with very creative talents. I love it! Apart from being a crafter I also work outside the home full time. Balancing motherhood with a full time job and my crafting hobby, which is also like a second job, is not easy, but I make it work. With the support of my husband we have made a comfortable life for our small but growing family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church. There was a short time where I stopped going to church. Not completely sure why I stopped, it may have had to do with where we lived. I didn't like the ward we were in and I didn't feel comfortable or at home in. So we, husband and I, decided that we needed to move and start going back to church. This move was exactly what we needed we found a ward that we loved and came back into full activity! I think that I needed this experience to fully appreciate the gospel and the repentance process. I had always done the right thing growing up. I know that we go through trials to make us stronger. I love the gospel and all that it teaches. I know that we have a prophet today who has been chosen by the Lord to lead His church. I know that the scriptures are true and have the answers that we are seeking when we are dilegent in reading them. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for us so that we may repent of our sins to return to live with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I now lead singing time for our nursery age children and in my opinion it's one of the best callings there is in the church. I love to see the little ones light up when I pull out my bag the fun singing time items that I have. I have had many callings in the church such as being the ward chorister, choir pianist, primary and nursery teacher. Each one has taught me something different and also has let me share my talents. I am also part of the Visting Teaching program and I am assigned to a couple of ladies to visit and serve. I really enjoy visiting with them. I do my best to dress in a modest and stylish way so that I can be can example to others around me. If I portray myself in such a manner I attract the right attention and show others that I pratice what I have been taught. At a young age we teach our children to dress modestly to show that we love ourselves and the Lord. As a mother I am trying to teach my son that dressing nice is a good thing, and being a boy he doesn't always care but I know that he is learning. I will also teach my little girls that modesty is always more attractive than showing too much.
