Hi I'm Jeremy

I'm from Australia. I manage multi-million dollar IT projects. I as a missionary in Japan for two years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy camping, hiking and the outdoors. I try to keep fit and run on average about 20 kms per week. I'm also an active market trader and I'm currently developing my own set of automated trading software. I've just finished an MBA which I completed part time while working as a full time IT Project Manager.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young high school student, I remember thinking to myself 'we are born, go to school, get a job, work, retire and then eventually die, surely there is more to life than this?'. This was an idea which seemed to dance around the periphery of my conscious mind and one day when I was in the city with friends, and I observed some Christian preachers, this idea prompted curiousity sufficient for me to approach them and ask questions. After some conversation with the Christian preacher he asked me if I would like to pray about Jesus Christ. Curiously, I agreed. We prayed right there on the busy street corner. I had never prayed before, but at the close of the prayer, I was entirely overcome by the most powerful feeling I had ever felt in my entire life. I could only describe the feeling as complete peace, warmth, joy, invigoration, and love. I said to the preacher, 'I know it's all true now, I know it's all true'. From that moment on I have never doubted the reality of the existence of God and that Jesus Christ is real and He is our savior. About 6 months later I met mormon missionaries and they began to teach me of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and the establishment of the Kingdom of God in these latter days. I felt good about those teachings and eventually came to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that Jospeh Smith is a prophet, and that the Kingdom of God is upon the Earth today. Consquently, I felt that God wanted me to follow through and be baptized. I did so. I choose to be mormon today because I know the gospel restored by Jospeh Smith, including the Book of Mormon is true. Through applying this gospel to my life I am happier, more hopeful for the future, and more peaceful. I love the Lord and His gospel so much, I hope many others will find peace through the gospel as I have, and that they may come to know for themselves the truth.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith through being more mindful of those around me, giving a smile to those who may be a bit down, volunteering to help out friends and family who may be in need, and just generally seeking to be a positive influence in the world. My recent efforts to live my faith include teaching Sunday school classes at Church, doing yard work for people in need, visiting members who are a bit lonely, and sharing the gospel with friends and family.
